What is the Engineering Design Process?

The engineering design process is a series of steps that engineers follow to come up with a solution to a problem.

  4. Develop solutions and concepts

  6. Design the solution
  7. When appropriate develop a prototype
  8. Test the prototype against the specifications and redesign as needed
  9. Identify and specify manufacturing methods
