PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) is a Structured Discipline of Requirements

The Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) is an systematic and stringent process requiring that roughly 19 elements to be satisfied (refer to below). This process helps to ensure that the customer’s design has been understood and proves that the supplier is capable of consistently producing parts meeting all quality and part requirements.

This is frequently mandatory, especially in critical businesses such as aerospace PMA parts or the auto industry. Without it you won’t get the order and even if you have been producing the parts for years, once the purchase order demands it, you must comply to retain the customer.

This Process Can Be  Extremely Time Consuming and Drain Resources

It requires the preparing team to first fully understand all customer specifications, secure and digest all governing quality standards, identify any “special” processing techniques, collect all certificates of compliance and generate the customer specific PPAP documents.

This can drain your resources and jeopardize shipments. So, if your resources are limited or you just don’t have the time to commit,  Mondek Solutions has the experience. Serving as both liaison and sole preparer, we have won approval on numerous PPAP submittals and have worked with a number of companies and their customers.
